Recycle with SAND

Help SAND by donating your Containers for Change (CFC) recycling! It’s easy, and your donations support our neighbourhood and the planet!

If you live in Shoreline, wash and bag your containers, and we'll pick them up. Just email secretary@sand.org.au, including your contact details, when you have a few bags ready and we’ll arrange collection with you.

If you prefer to drop off your donations, there’s a CFC collection point in the car park at the top of Jingeri Street/Mountain Ash Way. Please use our team number C11570688 on the bag label so the refunds go to SAND.

Every donation supports events, facilities, and services for our community. Thank you so much!

What can I recycle?

Most aluminium, glass, plastic, steel and liquid paperboard beverage containers between 150ml and 3L are eligible for a 10-cent refund which will be donated directly to SAND.

Eligible containers must:

  • Be included on the Containers for Change list of products. Use the CFC eligibility checker below to ensure your containers are eligible.

  • Display the refund mark (e.g. “10c refund at collection depots/points in participating State/Territory of purchase”). Please note that glass wine and pure spirit bottles are exempt from displaying the 10c mark until January 2027.

What can’t I recycle?

There are some beverage containers that are not eligible for a refund. Generally excluded containers are those that are less than 150ml and greater than 3L.

Excluded containers include:

  • Plain milk containers of all sizes including plant-based milk substitutes

  • Cask wine

  • Containers 1L or more that contained flavoured milk, pure fruit or vegetable juice, cask wine or cask water

  • Concentrated/undiluted cordial or syrup containers

  • Sachets above 250ml that have contained wine

  • Registered health tonics

If in doubt, use the CFC eligibility checker by entering the product bar code here.
